Sultan Supermarket in Paterson, New Jersey, is a fantastic place for fresh, authentic Middle Eastern groceries. The store is well-stocked with a wide variety of products, from fresh produce to halal meats and specialty spices. The bakery section is a highlight, offering delicious fresh bread and pastries. The staff is friendly and always willing to help with any questions. The prices are reasonable, making it a great choice for everyday shopping. Despite the sometimes crowded aisles, Sultan Supermarket provides a vibrant shopping experience with a taste of the Middle East.
I’ve bought from this shop before, and even though the prices are high, I came back because last time I got good, honest service. This time, I came with my friend, and we were shopping for Ramadan items.
We ordered meat One person took our order, but another guy—who seems to be in charge of the meat—looked at him. After they exchanged words in Turkish, that’s when he went inside and brought us the frozen meat.
We noticed he was nervous, cutting the meat from something frozen, and then put it in an empty chicken box. We knew it was frozen, especially since when Turkish customers ask, he shows them fresh meat from the front. But for us, even with a large order, he used frozen meat from inside.
All I can say is, you’ve lost a customer who came every month, spending no less than $500. My friend was with me, so you’ve lost at least $800. And you’ll lose more customers if you have staff with no integrity and discrimination. Sadly, this is shameful.يا عرب انتبهوا
We visit Sultan's market often. Sometimes once a week we drive here to buy our Turkish groceries like yogurt, sucuk, pastirma, turkish pistachios, olives, fresh simit and baklava. We bought some meat a few times but I didn't love the way the wings were seasoned. It felt very oily versus being seasoned but otherwise the quality was good. I love all the chocolate options at check out. They also have a great selection of dubai chocolates.
