Everything about this place is a home run. I’ve been coming here for years for their meat as well as Turkish specialty foods. Everything is fresh & they have a massive amount of high quality items- you get choices, not just 1 option. Delicious olives, pied, meats, desserts, spices- they hit every Turkish food item you’d want.
My client is Turkish & asked me to arrange a Biryam (Ramadan) celebration. She’s incredibly wealthy/ picky/ has extremely high expectations & was hoping I could find authentic home made foods & desserts. Well, they have that too! I was able to buy EVERYTHING I needed for the party, which is completely unheard of, and my client was incredibly impressed. So much so that she asks me to bring in foods for her when she’s in town.
And the staff are very knowledgeable, helpful & I just like them so much.
You must try this place. Even if you aren’t into the thought of going to a Turkish grocery- come for the meat. It’s very fresh to the point that you can tell by taste.
From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles and a homey atmosphere that makes you feel like part of the family. It’s clear this is a labor of love, as every detail reflects authenticity and care. 10/10 recommend. Don’t skip out y’all
I could not be happier that I stumbled across this gem of a place. From the first step in I was overtaken by childhood memories with the smell of fresh olives and spices my mother cooked with back home. The meat is so fresh, I can taste the difference in my food when cooked. This is a go to place for all things authentic and delicious. I picked up so many goods that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else. Oh and the baklava is decadent. I just wish I bought more. I’ll continue to drive 1 hour just to come here over and over. A quick shoutout to the staff who were super helpful and kind with all the questions I had, especially that lovely woman (sorry I never got your name). Thank you for giving me a slice of home in New York
Terrible Service Terrible Worker. That old and bald guy always rude and nasty. Whenever i ask him if the meat is fresh, he responsbe back in sarcastic way saying “No, it’s from last year.” Which is true cuz most of the time when i buy my grocery from Turkish Market i get spoiled products time to time. This store needs to be inspected by a NYC Health Department. Whoever is the Owner/Boss they really need to take action. I'm a local customer from Bayridge and whenever i go to that store especially night times that old guy is there. He needs to get his retirement immediately.
Butcher section is great and a lot of halal varieties. If it’s before 7:30pm you can get cut to your order. The guy behind the counter is a real butcher, just tell him what you want to make and watch while he is working.
Grocery section is rich too, prices are reasonable and similar to other halal groceries (even less). The place is not on my way so I don’t often shop but I have been shopping on and off for almost 15 years. Always clean, items far from the expiration date. And the most important thing they smile whether you buy a candy or monthly groceries!
