A hidden gem! Constantinople / Istanbul Market & Cafe is a small, clean Turkish market with a few delicious homemade dishes. The owner—a lovely and helpful Turkish lady—went out of her way to help me find products I had tasted in Turkey but couldn’t remember the names of. Just by describing them, she knew exactly what I was looking for. I also tried the chickpea soup made by her mom—simple, authentic, and really tasty. Super friendly vibe, great service, and a great spot for anyone craving real Turkish flavors.
Highly recommend!
Authentic Turkish Comfort Food & Warm Hospitality
This place is a hidden gem—owned by a friendly Turkish family, Constantinople Market & Deli brings the true taste of Turkey to LA. It’s a charming little spot where you can not only shop for Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Turkish groceries (like feta, filo dough, spices, and snacks), but also enjoy homemade, traditional Turkish dishes that feel like something your grandmother would make.
I tried their bean stew with lamb—tender, rich, and full of comforting flavor. The stuffed peppers were fresh and well-seasoned, and the Turkish manti (ravioli) with yogurt and tomato sauce was absolutely delicious—creamy, tangy, and satisfying. Portions are generous and prices are fair.
The food was tasty, no complaints about the quality.
Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. The waitress was unfriendly, not very helpful, and spoke in a rude manner. It honestly affected my mood before the meal.
I wish this café success and improvement the food is good, but the service needs attention.
Everything about it is great. You will get all the delicious things and foods, and the best thing is Turkish coffee. Its prices are very reasonable, and their treatment is wonderful, respectful, tasteful, and cooperative. I love this place and I advise everyone to visit it and buy from it.❤️🌹🌹🌹🌹
I can't say enough how good the hospitality is at this place. Genuinely 1000/10! They're a small family-owned business, with the owner going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and provide us with complimentary tea. The grocery store itself has a lot of interesting, imported items you can buy from, but the highlight is definitely the food they serve from the kitchen in back.
And don't get me started on the food, absolutely mouthwatering delicate meat stew and kofte. It tasted very homey and fresh, like your Turkish mom was the one to make it. When we visit LA again, we definitely plan to come back.
